Wow! So much has happened the past few weeks. I did begin a blog a week or so ago, but it was accidentally deleted, so I guess it wasn’t meant to be. It’s been a little hectic, too. I’ve been working some longer days, encouraging Rebecca during her final (and finals!) days of her Sophomore year, dealing with some friend’s heartbreaking cancer news, working on a major purge throughout the house, and house sitting for my parents. Whew!! So here’s a quick catch up on what’s been happening.
On my way to a doctor’s appointment a few weeks ago, to my total amazement and complete pleasure, what did I see walking down the side of the road but a family of Canada Geese!! I so wanted to stop in the middle of the road and take a picture, but I guess I didn’t want to cause a traffic jam (I really did, but knew I shouldn’t…darn!). Two large geese and five downy goslings were just strolling down the street, against traffic I might add, but it was truly a beautiful thing, and so adorable! I pulled into the next driveway, parked in a hurry, grabbed my phone, and went to find them. They were no longer in the road, but up on a grassy knoll in front of the medical complex. I gave them a wide berth and snapped a few pictures as I told them how beautiful they were and thanked them for allowing me to take their photo! I had to be fast, so they really don’t do the geese justice, but I’ll share a few anyway. As you may know, Canada Geese are one of my favorite things in the world…. more on them later.
I began an amazing e-course on May 11th, called Wear Your Joy, put out by one of my favorite artists, Kelly Rae Roberts. The first few days were great, I enjoyed it, did my homework, and even went on the Facebook group and shared. Then, I fell behind, as a lot of us did. There was no way I could keep up the pace with work and home and all. So I decided to let it go, and go at my own pace. Which is what many others are doing. More power to those women who can dedicate each day to the program. I am truly loving it. It is making me think more, delve deeper, and move beyond some of the negative self-talk I have been practicing more years than I care to admit. I’ll fill you in on some of this later.
Good friends, Janine and Monte, celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary on May 12th! Congratulations to them, and the fact that they made it through without the purchase of a condo!! (inside joke) May you be blessed with love and friendship for many years to come.
A lovely weekend was spent at a beach house in Pajaro Dunes for my aunt’s 80th birthday. A whole blog will be dedicated to that!
I attended a San Francisco Giants game with my dad courtesy of my employer. All of our offices in the bay area were treated to the game. There were extra tickets, and my name was pulled for one, so…. I asked my dad. We had a great time, the Giant’s won, but a miserable almost 3 ½ hour drive home on the bus. Traffic was horrible!!!!
Janine and Monte’s son, Ian, graduated from Bellarmine on May 23rd. Rebecca and I were happy to attend the ceremony, the brunch following, and the big party the next day. Congratulations, Ian! He’s off to Gonzaga in the fall.
I think that fills in a few holes for now. I have so much to tell you on some other topics and I am excited to get back in the groove and share with you.
Have a sunny day!! PS. Happy Birthday, Lisa! …..and thoughts and prayers to Bobby.
